About Me / who I am

Kevin Herod begins his fourth season at the helm as Head Coach of the Talladega College women's basketball team, looking to capitalize on last season's first Gulf Coast Athletic Conference tournament championship.

In three seasons, Coach Herod has won two GCAC regular season championships, one GCAC tournament championship, two trips to the NAIA Divison I National Championship, and two GCAC Coach of the Year Awards.

He has developed 5 NAIA All Americans and 12 All-GCAC players during his coaching tenure at Talladega.

At the beginning of the 2016/17 season, Coach Herod was named Talladega College's interim Athletic Director, taking on the additional responsibility for the administration of all eight of Talladega College's athletic teams.

He also serves as the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference's women's basketball rater, where he helps facilitate NAIA Division I women's basketball national team rankings.

Coach Herod is a Talladega College graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Management; a Master's Degree from Salem University in Global Business Management. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Sports Management.
